Someday, the world may have the full medical toolkit it needs to eradicate COVID-19. In the meantime, we should stop focusing on getting back to “normal,” and start developing comprehensive, creative, and cooperative strategies for living with the pandemic.
LONDON – As COVID-19 infections rise in much of the world, many are clinging to the hope that the vaccine will soon restore life as we knew it. That is wishful thinking. Even though effective vaccines have been developed and approved for use, COVID-19 will be with us for the foreseeable future – at least for the next five years. We are going to have to learn to live with it.
