当年轻人参与到社会,经济和政治活动中时,他们不仅会产生更高的生产力,还会为社区和国家的稳定与发展做出贡献。这对于到2050年将有8.3亿以上的年轻人的非洲大陆来说更是如此。

但眼下非洲领导人的年龄中位数为62岁,比经合组织的对应数字更高。根据南非独立选举委员会的统计,在本国今年五月举行的最近一次大选中未登记投票的900万合资格选民里有46%的人年龄介乎于20至29岁之间。
